PHILOSOPHY The Department of Technology and Vocational Education in line with the National Policy on Technical Education is expected to produce competent technology and vocational teachers with specialized knowledge to impart saleable skills to technology and vocational students. The department achieves economic/goals by providing productive and self-reliant citizens, who possess useful skills that can be of benefit to their communities and Nigerian economy in general. OBJECTIVE Every undergraduate of this department takes courses in any of the above technology/vocational education specialized areas as well as in education. It is expected that the students would have been adequately equipped to: (a) Teach with adequate professional skills one of the technology/vocational subjects in Technical College or Secondary School.
(b) Perform administrative and supervisory duties, especially in his teaching area in the country's education system.
(c) Continue advanced and specialized studies in Technology/Vocational Education.
(d) Earn gainful employment in the public/private industrial sector of the economy according to his/her specialized area of study.
(e) Be self-reliant in self-employment and with a possibility of employing others.
