The objective of Industrial Mathematics and Applied Statistics Department, Ebonyi State University, Nigeria is to be a leading department providing excellence in Pure Mathematics, Industrial Mathematics, Mathematics Computer, and Applied Statistics Programmes for the State, the Nation and the International Community.
The objective of the Department is also to build an academically sound Department of Industrial Mathematics and Applied Statistics providing excellence in teaching, learning, research and entrepreneurial skills necessary for graduating students that will meet the manpower needs of the larger industrial oriented society. 

The Department of Industrial Mathematics and Applied Statistics runs a 4 year undergraduate programme leading to the award of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in 4 areas; namely: Industrial Mathematics, Pure mathematics, Mathematics Computer and Applied statistics. In addition, the department runs postgraduate programmes leading to the award of postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degrees in the specialized areas of Optimization Theory, Functional Analysis, Operation Research, Numerical Analysis, Differential Equation, Optimal Control and Advance Statistical Analysis.
